Pole Barn Design and Estimating Software

GitEstimate helps pole barn builders design buildings, calculate prices, and create detailed material lists. You can use it for your own estimates or let customers explore building options through your website.

Design the barn, then work out the details

A customer might start with a 30-by-40 garage and later add a lean-to, change the roof pitch, or choose different doors. Those choices affect more than the appearance of the building. They can change materials, quantities, and the price you need to quote.

With GitEstimate's estimating packages, the 3D design is connected to your company's configured materials and pricing rules. Your team can revise the building, review the estimate, and check the parts list without rebuilding everything in a spreadsheet.

  • 3D pole barn design: Configure dimensions, doors, colors, roof options, and other supported building features.
  • Estimates using your prices: Use company-specific material and labor pricing instead of sample national averages.
  • Detailed parts lists: See the components and quantities calculated for the selected building.
  • Saved projects: Return to building configurations and estimates as customer needs change.
  • Builder Pro drawings: Add editable 2D floor plans, elevations, and details with the top package.

Can customers design a pole barn on your website?

Yes. You can link visitors to a 3D building designer, where they choose a building size and available options and submit their contact information and design. Your team can review those submissions and follow up with a better understanding of what the customer wants.

There are two different ways to offer this: the 3D Building Designer plan provides designs and inquiries only. If you need priced estimates and material lists, choose one of the estimating packages. We don't want you paying for the wrong tool.

What makes a pole barn estimate useful?

A useful estimate needs more than a price per square foot. Post sizes, framing, trusses, roofing, siding, openings, labor, and other options can change from one builder to another. GitEstimate helps apply the parts and pricing rules you use so your team can review both the estimated price and the materials behind it.

That matters when a customer asks for a change. Instead of starting from scratch, you can adjust the design and review the updated estimate and parts list. Your team remains responsible for checking the final quantities and quote.

Getting your company set up

We work with you to configure your business information, materials, pricing, and estimating options. Sample estimates help you check the results against the way you build. After setup, your staff can maintain pricing and use the system for everyday estimates.

Common questions

Does the software work for garages, workshops, and agricultural buildings?

GitEstimate supports common post-frame building configurations, including enclosed and open buildings and lean-tos. The available options depend on your company's setup; we can discuss specific building requirements before you subscribe.

Does the 3D-only plan show a customer an estimate?

No. That plan is intended for visual building design and collecting customer inquiries. Priced estimates and parts lists require an estimating package.

Can I change material prices later?

Yes. Your company can maintain its component pricing so future estimates use updated values. We help align your initial pricing and building methods during setup.

What's the difference between a pole barn and a post-frame building?

“Pole barn” is a familiar name for this type of building. “Post-frame” is the broader industry term. The post-frame estimating software page explains more about the internal estimating workflow.
